Jones Residence

The configuration of this house is limited by its flood plain restrictions, having frontage directly on Lake Travis. Its entire lower level is built of materials that can withstand a 100-year flood, including concrete block with plaster finish. This portion of the house is not conditioned space, containing game rooms and garages. The remainder of the house is located above to protect it from potential floodwaters. Its lodge type construction—a metal roof, Douglas Fir trusses, cypress siding and a stone base—tie it to the surrounding landscape.
